Welcome to the home of the C▪ POL High-Performance Policy-Evaluation engine. C▪ POL began as a research project at the University of Michigan to provide efficient privacy policy evaluation for a location sensing infrastructure. C▪ POL achieved its goals and more. It provides a flexible framework for defining policies, comparable in expressiveness to the KeyNote trust management system, but five to six orders of magnitude faster. C▪ POL has been used to enforce location privacy policies, and work is underway to use C▪ POL for speeding up firewall rule evaluation. Other potential application domains include mobile messaging control, and operating system security enforcement. Please contact us if you are interested in using C▪ POL for a new application domain and we will be happy to provide you with assistance or even collaborate with you on your project. If this is your first time using C▪ POL, check out our tutorial and take a look at the demo in the C▪POL Source Code to get started. If you have any questions or require technical assistance, please refer to our support page.
Cheers, Kevin Borders, Xin Zhao, Atul Prakash The C▪ POL Team This work was made possible by grants from the National Science Foundation and the Intel Corporation
